About Danii…

Danii Clavelle is a Strength and Conditioning coach in Calgary, Alberta with seven years of coaching experience. Her experience ranges from recreational lifters, people with weight loss goals, and tactical training exams (Fire and Navy), all the way to the highest-level competitive powerlifters and strongman athletes.

Danii currently specializes in online and in person Strength and Conditioning training and sports performance nutrition with Calgary Barbell, with the goal of getting a wide group of people involved in training and healthier lifestyles, helping them reach the highest of their capabillities. 

After four years full-time in the Personal Training Industry, Danii moved to Calgary in 2019 to work with Calgary Barbell and attend the PFT Diploma Program at Mount Royal University, graduating in 2021. Upon Graduation, Danii wrote the CSEP-CPT, and is currently certified and insured through them.

Between both academic and practical experience, Danii has developed an incredible proficiency at working with each individual in her practice. She is focused on using her expansive toolbox that she’s developed over the years to be able to tailor her approach to whatever is best suited to get her clients results. Danii also exemplifies the CBB coaching standard in her attention to communication and collaboration with clients. She’s a firm believer that powerlifting acts as a vehicle for self improvement, aiming to develop discipline and resilience for each individual.

Danii boasts many achievements of her own in as a competitor, most recently finishing second place at Commonwealth Games in New Zealand. She has a history of competition in both equipped and raw, and in 2022 won equipped and made podium in classic - 24 hours apart. She currently holds the National record in both the equipped squat and bench, and the Provincial records in the raw squat, bench, and total. She is currently training to get back to the international platform in 2023. Beyond that, Danii spends a great deal of time and effort directing, hosting, refereeing, and volunteering across Canadian Powerlifting,

In her free time, Danii likes to summit mountains, play ukelele, read science fiction, drink good coffee and scheme up new recipes. She is also involved as a volunteer with the Lift4Life Foundation. Danii believes that powerlifting is a universal tool we can all benefit from. Whether you want to be good at powerlifting, football, climbing, hiking, or even just the activities of daily living, you should strength train - and understanding the squat, bench and deadlift is a great way to get started.
